Tiger Woods has been found to be at fault in an early-morning car crash outside his home last week and has been issued a “traffic citation for careless driving,” the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news conference in Orlando on Tuesday.

Maj. Cindy Williams said the ticket carries a fine of $164 (U.S.) and the deduction of points off Woods’ driving record. Spokeswoman Kim Montes said there would be no further charges, criminal or otherwise, and there was “insufficient evidence” to support a subpoena seeking further medical evidence from the accident involving the world’s No. 1 golfer.

The gutter press are not going to be happy that this is all the police have decided to do. No doubt they were hoping for something way more juicy like a home raid with lots of scandal on the security cameras but they will have to bide their time and hope that the latest girl coming out with affair claims has something good to say. It is funny how these people come crawling out of the woodwork the minute someone is feeling the heat. I wonder how much she is getting paid? Either way, with no charges being brought and Tiger not set to play again until sometime in 2010 this will give him the chance to lay low and by the time we do hear from him again this might well be old news and even if it isn’t he can always say, “I bumped my head, I don’t really remember that night… next…”
