Briatore takes a little step in getting back into F1
Formula 1 | Wednesday 6 January 2010 by Richard BlayneyFlavio Briatore yesterday had his life-time ban from Formula One following the crash-gate scandal overturned by the French Courts but the FIA vowd to take their appeals as far as they can in order to have the decision remain in tact.
Britore was delighted to win his case and went into the reasons why he won…
The Court recognized that all the criticisms I had formulated against the decision of the World Council were founded, by finding that the FIA had:
- rendered a decision that it was not competent to pronounce
- infringed its own articles of association
- totally failed to respect my right to a fair defense
- finally, entrusted the tasks of investigation, prosecution and judgment to a principle player known by all to be hostile to me.I believe that justice has been done today.
Well, he won’t be back in F1 anytime soon because until all appelas have been exhausted the life-time ban remains in tact.
Where do I stand? Well I don’t think he should be allowed back into the sport that easily and the FIA are already considering some kind of licence scheme that anyone working in F1 would have to apply for in order to work in the sport.
More on this in due course, no doubt.
