Webber finally gets his win
F1 2009 | Monday 13 July 2009 by Richard BlayneyI didn’t get to see the F1 race this weekend due to being at another category of motor racing, the Indy Cars, but I heard the result and seen a few of the highlights and thought it worth saying how happy I was to see Mark Webber win the race. It isn’t that I am a huge Webber fan but it would be hard to find anyone who wasn’t happy to see the guy win. He has been in the sport for a long time and worked his ass off so it’s nice to see it finally come through for him. Button still comfortably leads the championship by 21-points, but Red Bull appeared much stronger this weekend with the Brawn team finally looking beatable. It should make things interesting for the run in of Grand Prix’s though Button’s lead is still pretty healthy. Vettle is 21 points back, Webber 1.5 points behind him and Barrichello another 1.5 behind Webber. Joining Webber on the podium in Germany was Vettel and Massa. Lewis Hamilton for what it is worth mentioning blew a good qualifying run to finish last.
